The picture below was taken in September 2005 on one of our many trips to Salve Mater.

SALVE MATER is a disused sanatorium located in Lovenjoel, near Leuven in Belgium. The published Belgium photographer Pascal Baetens has the use of one of the building complexes which was formerly the administration building complete with church, mortuary, kitchens and an abundance of different rooms including large attics and cellars. Our small group has been very fortunate to have visited Pascal at his temporary studio several times and we hope to make more visits before the building is finally handed over to developers. Pascal runs fine art nude workshops for small groups and we have so far taken a couple of groups over ourselves. The building is in great condition and has the advantage of lots of natural light in different parts of the building throughout the day. Our thanks go to Pascal for his continued support in providing the venue and to the models that we have photographed during various visits. All of these shots have been taken using only natural light and we hope you enjoy this small selection of images.
